Strictly: Georgia May Foote and Giovanni perform Cha Cha in 2015

Georgia May Foote has reached out to her followers on social media, desperately seeking help after being bedridden for five consecutive days.

Remarkably, her last meal was on Christmas Day, which has left her feeling quite weak and unwell.

The 33-year-old actress, who is best known for her memorable role as Katy Armstrong in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street, took to her social media platforms to explain her current predicament and appeal for any remedies that could alleviate her discomfort.

Since the festive season, she has been coping with an upset stomach and excruciating cramps, both of which have significantly affected her daily routine and overall wellbeing.

In her latest update, Georgia revealed that she attempted to eat a proper meal for the first time since Christmas on December 29.

However, her efforts were thwarted as her stomach rejected the food, leading her to feel even worse. From her bed, she shared her experience, stating: "Day 5 of having a really bad stomach.”

Georgia candidly expressed her ongoing struggle with the painful symptoms, saying: "I tried to eat my first proper meal since Christmas Day, but my belly said no. Has anyone else gone through this? I really need to know how to stop this, as the cramps are incredibly painful."

In a final plea, she opened up about her frustration, asking her followers for advice: "I'm literally out here looking for tips because this situation is dragging on far too long."

Her heartfelt request for assistance underscores the toll her illness has taken and her hope for a speedy recovery.

Despite receiving a plethora of responses, Georgia remained puzzled by her condition, telling her audience in a grey jumper: "This seems to be my most-ever replied-to story.

"Everyone keeps talking about this flu going around, but I don't have the flu. I just don't know what this is."

NHS officials are alerting the public to an exceptionally high norovirus presence this season, with a 27.4 per cent surge in cases compared to previous years.

Symptoms of the norovirus, often dubbed the "winter vomiting bug", include nausea, diarrhoea, and vomiting.

After her plea for remedies, Georgia updated her followers from the comfort of her car, detailing the arsenal of treatments she'd collected to combat her malaise.

As her fans had been curious about her condition, Georgia disclosed: "Yes, I'm very aware I look like death. You asked for an update so thought I'd show you what I got. I spoke a chemist; he said that this is the best thing for me to get.

"I asked about ginger cause I have this every single morning anyway and he said that might be irritating so go for it in something, so I went for these biscuits, hopefully these stay down."

She also mentioned her new diet selections tailored for her sensitivities: "I've gone for gluten free so there's no chance of it making my tummy hurt. I got some Kefir yoghurt as you all suggested. It's a bit like Actimel but more yoghurty. I got some rice cakes just for something to nibble on, some re hydration drinks, basically the same as Dioralyte its just six quid cheaper, some Buscopan as he said this would help and some paracetamol."
