Simon Rimmer will be taking up a new position as Gold Radio host for 2025, he has revealed.
Taking to Instagram, the Sunday Brunch star confirmed he'd be joining the likes of Kirsty Gallacher on Gold Radio, after the station introduced a huge shake-up this morning. The ecstatic star shared: "I'm very excited to reveal I’m joining @goldradio every Saturday morning 8am -12 noon from January! Cannot wait."
His announcement comes alongside the news that Kirsty will be launching the all-new Gold Radio Drive With Kirsty Gallacher show on weekday afternoons. Meanwhile, longstanding legend James Bassam will continue his usual weekday morning breakfast slot, but at the new time of 7am to 11am.
He has also announced a new weekend show to add to his repertoire, hitting the airwaves each Sunday from 8am to 12pm. However, it's arguably Simon's debut that has had everyone talking.
Fans are already keen to know if he'll be putting a playlist together, while quizzing him in advance on what his favourite albums are. "Congratulations Simon! You will rock!" declared one confidently, while another praised his "great start to the year".

The Sunday Brunch fave, who also hosts the podcast Grilled, is usually better known for his banter with special guests in the culinary world.
He memorably hosted Tom Kerridge on the show just before Christmas.
It was also announced that Simon will be appearing as guest chef, alongside Stephen Doherty, for an event at Liverpool's renowned Art School restaurant this month.
The BBC star's career is already going from strength to strength in the debut month of 2025, with fans hoping further projects will be announced around the country.

Simon also hit the news recently when bookies announced odds of 10-1 for him to take over Gregg Wallace's Masterchef role.
Gregg had stepped back after being accused of oversexualised and inappropriate behaviour behind the scenes of the show, while Rod Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster, a model turned police women, was among those to criticise him.
Gregg vehemently denied the allegations, made by 13 different people.
Meanwhile, Simon's excellent start to 2025 will be a source of joy for him after last year's bad news when he was forced to say goodbye to his vegetarian and vegan restaurant chain Greens.
The flagship eatery opened in Manchester three decades ago, but subsequently became financially "untenable".
