SAS Rogue Heroes has made a triumphant return for its second series, and fans are curious about actor Stuart Campbell's previous roles.
Over two years have elapsed since the inaugural series of SAS Rogue Heroes, featuring Sex Education's Connor Swindells as military officer David Stirling.
The second season premiered on New Year's Day on BBC One, but those who can't wait for weekly instalments can binge-watch all six episodes on BBC iPlayer.
Returning alongside Swindells is Stuart Campbell, portraying the role of second-in-command Captain Bill Fraser. But what other roles has this talented actor undertaken?
Campbell's acting journey began over a decade ago with his appearance in the short film Boy Soldiers in 2012, followed by voicing Trevor Belmont in the video game Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in 2014.
His first on-screen role came two years later as Jimmy Jones in an episode of Suspects, starring Fay Ripley and Damien Malony.
This marked the start of a series of guest appearances in popular shows for the SAS Rogue Heroes star.
His credits include Aiden Corbyn in Doctors, Rabbie MacNab in Outlander, Craig Fleetwood in London Kills, and Wilf Ransome in Professor T.
Campbell then landed his first significant recurring role as Jack in the CBBC period drama Hetty Feather, a part he played for three years until the show concluded in 2020.
Following his stint on the BBC drama Baptiste as Alex Chambers in 2021, Campbell swiftly transitioned to Paramount+'s Chemistry of Death, embodying PC Duncan McInney.
But it wasn't until 2023 that the actor from SAS Rogue Heroes truly captivated audiences with his role in MGM+'s The Winter King.
Taking on the character of Derfel, a "left for dead orphan" who ascended to become the most honoured among warlords, he garnered widespread acclaim.
Campbell's most recent television appearance was breathing life into the "jittery" persona of Malcolm Kidd in the ninth instalment of BBC's Shetland, which now finds Ashley Jensen at the helm as DI Ruth Calder following the exit of Douglas Henshall two years prior.
Having wrapped up a short film titled Wake, it is unclear what else Campbell has in the pipeline.
The BBC has yet to confirm a third season of SAS Rogue Heroes; nevertheless, creator Steven Knight has hinted at an expansive vision for the series beyond its current narrative arc.
In response to a query at a Q&A about extending the show, Knight divulged: "Not one series. No, we want to take this to the end of the war, and just a bit beyond."
