This Morning: Craig introduces new guest speaker

Craig Doyle joyfully introduced a fresh face to the This Morning team on Tuesday, alongside some "positive news".

During the show, Craig and his co-presenter Sian Welby were joined by Camilla Tominey and the new addition Deborah Arthurs for a discussion on the day's hot topics in the This Morning's View segment.

The conversation heated up with the revelation that Oasis' Liam and Noel Gallagher are set to reunite for a tour next year. The debate also turned to the controversy surrounding ring girls and their recent exclusion from sporting events.

Following a chat with Chris Moyles about the Oasis reunion, Craig enthused: "We are going to go through more of today's headlines, that's a really big one and a positive one," before warmly welcoming the panelists: "Camilla Tominey and Metro's editor in chief, Deborah Arthurs, who is making her debut on This Morning."

Deborah expressed her gratitude with a "Thank you very much," to which Craig responded: "You're very, very welcome, good to have you with us," reports the Mirror.

Moving on to the buzz around Oasis, Craig queried: "Let's start with this positive news, will they make it to the first gig?"

Deborah, an avowed Oasis enthusiast, shared: "I hope so, I am thrilled, I was a huge Oasis fan back in the 90s, I remember playing them in my school common room."

She reminisced about seeing the band at Glastonbury, particularly a performance in 2004 where the Gallagher brothers' rift was evident: "I saw them at Glastonbury a couple of times, clearly that one in 2004, they were clearly not friends anymore. Liam was on one side of the stage and Noel was on the other."

To conclude, she excitedly noted: "This is the news that all Oasis fans have been dying to hear."

Sian weighed in on the upcoming Oasis reunion, stating: "I think we all like a bit of nostalgia as well, getting those bands back from our youths, there is something exciting about that and yeah, I am not really a big Oasis fan but I think this is epic."

Camilla shared her feelings about the event making her "feel old", yet acknowledged it will be "very special".

In additional updates, the show presenters Sian and Craig announced the much-anticipated return of Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard who are set to resume hosting duties next week following their summer holiday.

Alison Hammond and Dermot OLeary will also make a comeback to deliver their weekly segment. To highlight their return, an extraordinary photo opportunity was arranged, where the presenters were snapped atop the Television Centre in West London.

This Morning's Editor, Martin Frizell, praised the promotional stunt by stating: "Full credit to our promo team for this idea and execution. I know that it was no mean feat getting a rather large sofa and four hosts up on the roof during one of the hottest days this summer! ".

He continued to express excitement for the hosts' return after their break, saying: "We all couldn't be more excited to welcome back Ben, Cat, Alison and Dermot post their summer break, and I know all had great fun filming this promo. Their energy certainly matches the fresh and bold content the show has coming up."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
