BBC's The One Show is already reportedly eyeing up a replacement for Jermaine Jenas. It comes as the former presenter was sacked by the broadcasters after alleged complaints of "inappropriate behaviour".

Now bookies think they know who is first in line to replace the sports commentator, with This Morning star Rylan Clark being a firm favourite.

Lee Astley, spokesperson for betideas.com, said: "The news of Jermaine Jenas’ sacking from The One Show on BBC has kickstarted the rumour mill on who will replace him as a permanent host, with Rylan Clark a solid chance in the betting.

"Rylan, a man well-versed in the world of television presenting with stints on ITV’s This Morning and the Eurovision Song Contest, has been given odds of 9/2 to assume the vacancy left by Jenas as a presenter on BBC’s hit chat show.

Rylan has stepped in to host the show before and at the time, fans begged he would become a permanent host.

On one occasion with Roman Kemp, one user wrote: "Aww Rylan yay! Wonderful, very happy to see him back on my TV." While another said: "Rylan and Ronan! What a great team. Perfect presenters... more please!"

A third said: "Loved seeing Rylan back on The One Show, can you make it perm? He's such a natural on live TV, I didn't stop smiling."

But while fans love Rylan, he's not the only name thrown in the ring.

"Gethin Jones, one of Wales’s most prominent presenters, has odds of 7/2 as the market leader for the position, with Great Britain’s own Olympic gold medallist, Tom Daley, at longer odds of 8/1 to fill the role since his retirement from professional diving," Betideas added.

Several women have reportedly come forward with accusations of "inappropriate behaviour" by Jermaine Jenas. The 41-year-old former footballer and presenter, known for hosting Match of the Day and The One Show, was sacked by the BBC following these allegations on Thursday.

A BBC spokesperson said after the sacking: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting lineup." Jenas, who was live on air when the news of his dismissal broke, has stated there are "two sides to every story" and is seeking legal advice.

Claims suggest that after one woman complained about receiving unsolicited messages, other female staff members also came forward.

However, it was reported that "Jermaine's conduct is absolutely nothing" like that of former BBC News presenter Huw Edwards and clarified there is "no suggestion of illegality".

Jenas has been part of the BBC since 2020 and took up a permanent hosting role a year later. In a statement released through a spokesperson, Jenas expressed: "Right now I can't talk about it. I can tell you I'm not happy - there are two sides to every story - and I'm going to be speaking with my lawyers on the issue."
