Lorna Watson, a well-known actress and comedian, has made her mark in the television industry with numerous appearances, including her own sketch show, Watson and Oliver, alongside fellow comedian Ingrid Oliver.

However, the 46 year old is most recognised for her role as Sister Boniface, a character she portrayed in the Father Brown episode The Bride of Christ. In 2020, it was revealed that she would feature in a new ten-part series, Sister Boniface Mysteries, which subsequently premiered on Britbox and is currently being broadcasted on BBC One.

Following two successful series, a fourth instalment is now underway. But what else do we know about Lorna?

When not working, Lorna prefers to keep her personal life under wraps. Her Instagram account primarily showcases her professional endeavours, interspersed with occasional snapshots of food and outings, reports OK!.

It remains unclear whether Lorna is single or in a relationship, as she has refrained from discussing her romantic status online or in interviews.

In addition to her acting career, Lorna has a hidden talent - she is a children's author. Her first book, Rabbit on the Rampage, hit the shelves in February.

She has posted pictures of the entertaining book, illustrated by Rikin Parekh and published by Walker Picture Books, on Instagram.

One image showcased the book ready for purchase, with Lorna's enthusiastic declaration: "Out tomorrow! !" Meanwhile, a different snapshot highlighted the book's cover, as Lorna shared her excitement with followers: "So excited my debut book Rabbit on the Rampage, illustrated by the super talented Rikin Parekh and published by the brilliant @bigpicturebooks is now available to preorder."

Yet, it's her portrayal of Sister Boniface that has garnered Lorna widespread recognition. Discussing the character, Lorna previously expressed how series creator Jude Tindall's "playfulness" and "curiosity" drew her to the role. She reminisced about donning the habit for the first time, describing the experience as "magical".

"I just felt a connection with her, her sort of playfulness, the eager beaver in her, her thirst for knowledge. Her wide-eyed curiosity for the world really appealed to me," Lorna confided to America Magazine.

She continued: "Putting on the habit for the first time, something really magical happened. I don't know how to describe it, really. It just makes me look so different that I can't help but be other. It's such an incredible thing to wear."
