GMB: Adil 'moves on' after Andi's inappropriate banana joke

Good Morning Britain's Adil Ray experienced an embarrassing moment on Thursday's show on ITV. In the studio during the segment, Andi Peters educated the viewers regarding the new competition and the available entry options.

Using props, Andi held a single banana in one hand and five in the other to explain that a single entry would cost £2, while five entries would amount to £5.

He commented:"So this one here is much better for value. Don't say I don't do you favours. I might not be Martin Lewis-"

Adil Ray interjected at this point, humorously claiming Andi's banana analogy had made things more confusing.

Amid laughter, Andi tossed the bananas aside as he provided further details on entering the competition.

When the segment was nearing its end, Charlotte Hawkins admitted her attention had been captured by the bananas.

Seizing a playful opportunity, Andi quipped: "Yeah, I have it all the time people are distracted by my banana," reports the Mirror.

An awkward silence followed the risque joke, leading Adil to swiftly change the topic with a "Let's move on!"

However, it appears some viewers were less than amused by Andi's suggestive banter.

A Twitter user expressed their disapproval with a comment: "Andi Peters always goes too far with his sexual references on #gmb."

This week ITV's daytime schedule experienced a bit of a shake-up as the BBC's Race Across the World celebrity Jeff Brazier stepped in to share competition updates.

Nevertheless, Andi Peters triumphantly returned on Friday to reclaim his role, even taking a moment to poke fun at his temporary replacement.

In conversation with Adil, Andi couldn't resist remarking: "That's why you got Jeff, now I'm back Jeff's like, 'Oh he came back did he?' Yeah, I did!"

But that's not the only change viewers have witnessed lately it seems many stars are off enjoying their summer holidays.

Weather favourite Laura Tobin announced a 10-day sunny break, with Des Coleman stepping up to fill her shoes.

Meanwhile, the main presenting team has seen a revolving door of talent as Susanna Reid announced her own return come September.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am
