This Morning's Josie Gibson issues apology as she awkwardly cuts off co-star live on air

Amid the morning TV bustle, This Morning experienced an awkward hiccup just minutes from going live when Josie Gibson accidentally cut off her colleague.

In a scene on ITV's Lorraine, Wednesday's episode found Christine Lampard stepping in for host Lorraine Kelly, who is enjoying a lengthy summer break.

As the show edged towards its conclusion, Christine welcomed This Morning's duo Josie Gibson, 39, and Craig Doyle, 53, on a video link-up, offering viewers a teaser of what was coming up on their programme.

Over the summer, Irish presenter Craig has teamed up with Josie to cover for regular anchors Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard as they enjoy a seasonal hiatus.

Christine introduced them, saying: "Craig and Josie are here at 10am, Good Morning," reports the Mirror.

Josie responded with: "Good Morning. I've got a question for you Christine, how did you sleep last night?"

When Christine attempted to share her restless night, Josie hastily interjected: "Aw babes I'm sorry about that. Well, today on the show we are talking about dreams and giving you the chance to find out what that means."

Caught off guard by the abrupt interruption, Christine could only display her astonishment while Craig defused the situation with a quip: "Well we don't care about how you didn't sleep."

The studio erupted in laughter when Christine confessed: "Well I was about to explain how I was kept up by the dog and my three-year-old was there but anyway the counselling session ends here."

As Craig proceeded to discuss the main stories for the day, Josie chimed in with: "We hope you sleep better tonight Christine."

Christine quickly retorted: "Well I'm sorry, I didn't realise it was a rhetorical question. I'll just offload all my issues to you after the show."
