This Morning celebrates Christmas in August

Fans of This Morning expressed their outrage on social media, slamming ITV producers with a stern warning of "don't even go there".

The beloved show's aficionados were left stunned as presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle playfully introduced the days programme with the sound of jingle bells and dared to broach the topic of "Christmas in August", inciting the wrath of viewers in the early moments.

Twitter was abuzz, popularly referenced by the shorthand 'X', with fans vociferously lamenting the premature festive discussions as summer had yet to depart.

One viewer was quick to tweet: "#ThisMorning omg on about Christmas already are u lot on drugs," while another echoed the sentiment stating: "Christmas? Isn't it currently still Summer right now + we're in August as well. #ThisMorning."

A third fan sharply cautioned: "Do not even go there," punctuating their displeasure with an angry emoji. Another chimed in with a mix of amusement and disbelief: "Great Christmas In August lol ##ThisMorning.", reports the Mirror.

Apart from the furore over the show's content, Craig, who is 53 years old, has become a point of conversation after suddenly deleting his Instagram account this week.

The Irish presenter, who has been filling in during the summer break alongside Josie Gibson in place of regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, is known for being active in sharing updates with his followers on social media. His recent withdrawal from Instagram, nevertheless, remains shrouded in mystery.

A quick look at his account reveals error messages such as "This page isn't available" or "User not found". This has been deemed "odd" by several media outlets, considering his prominent role on the ITV show this week.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
