BBC London reports on three hospices proposing cuts to services

BBC Breakfast faced a backlash from viewers on Friday after they made a change to the regional news bulletin. Usually, hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt would pause the show to make way for the regional news reports, however, some fans were faced with the news from London instead of their own local bulletins.

Taking to X to complain about it, one fan asked: "Why are we getting London Local News in the Northwest? #BBCBreakfast."

"#BBCBreakfast there is a dolphin in the Thames, but I live in Manchester and my regional news has gone t**s up," another went on.

"At least I know how the tube is ,marvellous living on the Wirral #bbcbreakfast," a third joked while a fourth added: "Um, why am I seeing London local news? #bbcbreakfast."

Someone else pointed out: "Got London local, in the northwest #bbcbreakfast."

"Oy .......we have London news #bbcbreakfast," another questioned.

Introducing the regional news, Charlie said: "Time now to get the news, travel, and the weather where you are."

It then cut to BBC London Breakfast host Nicki Ford as she greeted viewers: "Hello and good morning from BBC London, I am Nicki Ford."

The presenter then reeled off the top leading headlines before the local weather forecast.

BBC Breakfast has faced a number of schedule changes this week due to the Olympics coverage.

The programme which usually airs on BBC One from 6am until 9.30am has seen a major shake-up.

On Friday, the show was broadcast on BBC One from 6am until 8am before it promptly moved over to BBC Two.

The show will also be cut short and conclude at 9am instead of 9.30am

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
