The Chase viewers thrilled over ITV show first

The Chase returned to ITV with a fresh batch of contestants hoping to beat the chaser and take home a whopping cash prize.

Bradley Walsh introduced viewers to Rachel from Cardiff, Will, originally from North Yorkshire, Martin from Enniskillen and Jessica from Cornwall, who were up against Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen.

Thankfully for the players, the game show ended in success. They survived the chaser and, through rounds of general knowledge questions, collectively amassed £13,000.

Despite the win, viewers weren't pleased with Rachel, who they claimed didn't "try to answer questions" during the tense cash builder round.

Taking to X, one fan fumed: "Rachel doesn't exactly look like she's trying to answer any questions. Will deserves to win. She doesn't #thechase."

Another added: "Rachel telling everyone else to take the middle offer after going low first."

One fan posted: "Rachel may have stolen a couple of grand off the other team members, but the good news is she still won’t be able to afford a camper van with only £3,250… #TheChase."

As an unimpressed viewer suggested: "Give rachel her £1000 and the rest can split the 12k between them."

While one raged: "Well bloody done, team (3/4 of it)! And Rachel, take the £1000 you earned in the cash builder and f*** right off!"

Rachel revealed that she would use the prize fund to purchase “a really dog-friendly camper van" for the North Coast 500 in Scotland.

During the game show, she amassed £6,000 but opted to accept the low offer of £1,000 despite her team's attempt to convince her to play for £6,000.

However, when it came to the Final Chase, Will’s intellect shone as he answered a majority of the questions.

While Rachel only chimed in once, when they were asked: “Guess Who is for how many player?” which she correctly responded: “Two.”
