Nigel Farage has "respect" and "reverence" for Donald Trump, but nothing but "contempt" for Keir Starmer, it has been suggested.

Meanwhile, Farage - who discussed the pair on GB News this morning - could also be concerned that Labour will not take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the "special relationship" between the US and the UK. Body language expert Darren Stanton revealed his views amid the tense election results coverage, on behalf of Slingo.

"People level Farage as our very own Donald Trump. There’s not many people that we hear Farage speak about with such reverence," he began. "He has massively high respect for Trump and he’s someone that Farage mirrors himself on. He speaks about him with so much passion and emotion.

"Farage says by his own admission, ‘I’ve been massively loyal to this guy, he’s been down and out,’ [meaning that] he sees himself as a similar person. He sees Trump as a role model for himself."

Darren added that, in comparison to his discussion about Keir Starmer, Farage’s "blink rate" increases dramatically when speaking about Trump. "While often a sign of nervousness or anxiety, here it shows Farage’s excitement," he suggested.

On the other hand, "when he mentions Keir Starmer, Farage flashes a microexpression of contempt".

The body language guru elaborated: "He’s got nothing but contempt for Starmer and a little bit of anger - presumably because he knows Starmer isn’t likely to embrace the opportunities Farage believes the UK now has with Trump back in office."

He added: “There’s a real smugness about Farage. You can see this in the smirk he holds on his face while discussing Trump.

"He’s out there in the thick of it in the US and he sees himself as a conduit between the UK and the US."

In conclusion, he declared: "His delivery of his support for Trump and his respect for Trump is genuine.”

Speaking on GB News earlier today, Farage had made his feelings all too clear, as he urged: "What the Labour government need to do is roll out the red carpet and be welcoming.

"There is a fantastic opportunity ahead of us [and] if I can broker a little bit of peace [between Trump and Starmer], I'd be very happy to help!"

Trump, who has now been declared the next US president, shares a "personal friendship" with Brit ally Farage.
