Ruth Langsford tells Eamonn Holmes she'd be a 'spiteful' ex
Ruth Langsford was all smiles as she broke cover for her first public appearance since Eamonn Holmes’ plans to move in with his new girlfriend came to light.
Ruth was hosting ITV panel show Loose Women on Tuesday (September 10) just an hour after the news broke that Eamonn, 64, plans to cohabit with his younger girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42. Despite the pair both still wearing their wedding rings, The Sun has reported the pair are “looking to move in together permanently”.
But a cheerful Ruth was chatting to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about what viewers can expect from today’s programme during the crossover. Ben said: “Time to find out what the Loose Women are up to.”
She then explained: “Hello Ben, Cat, we've got lots for you as always. After Princess Kate's emotional video, we're asking has sickness affected your relationships with family.
"Also Ben Cohen and his partner Kristina Rihanoff have opened up about their financial struggles, so is debt one of the last social taboos?
“Our guests are Vernon Kay and AJ Odudu and the big question - what do you eat first, your meat or your two veg? We will be revealing the healthiest order to eat food.”
According to The Sun, one insider claimed of Eamonn's new romance: "Katie’s assured him she's in it for the long haul and they’re both settling down nicely.
“They’ve been spending so much time at his Kingston flat that they’re even looking to move in together permanently.
“Eamonn doesn’t want to stay in his rented place as it’s too small, too expensive and, without air conditioning, gets very hot. It’s on the basement floor as well, with people looking in as they walk past all the time so isn’t private enough for them."
The source added that the pair want a "bigger place in the country", and claimed Katie will "care for" Eamonn as he grows older – indicating that the couple prefer to do that in private, away from anyone who might be looking in.
The pair recently jetted off for their first holiday abroad together. Katie was seen pushing Eamonn's walking frame through the airport as he followed in a wheelchair.
The pair jetted off to Barcelona in Spain to head on a Virgin Voyager cruise on the Scarlet Lady, which travelled the Spanish, Italian and French coasts for a week.
According to MailOnline, Ruth was shocked at how open her ex was about their split, with one source claiming: "Ruth is shocked by how open Eamonn is being about his relationship, after all they both still have their wedding rings on.
"Neither of them want to be the first to take it off because they don't want to look like they're to blame for the split."
