This Morning: Nick Ferrari rushes to set after being late

Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were left apologising when today's show began with a hiccup as one star was late.

With the panel, including pundits Alison Phillips and Nick Ferrari, set to dissect today's top news, an unexpected absence caused a stir. Following on from a segment from travel guru Simon Calder about holidaying in Albania on a shoestring budget, the cameras panned back to the studio to find Ben, Cat, and Alison ready at the desk but no sign of Nick.

Tongue-in-cheek comments filled the studio when Ben addressed Nick's delay by jesting: "From Albania - he's here," while a cheeky Cat Deeley chimed in with, "I didn't know you were going to be in the studio today Nick!"

The banter continued with Ben playfully teasing Alison's punctuality before Nick clarified his late entrance, remarking humorously to the hosts: "Try having a radio show that ends at 10am!"

Ben and Cat, having returned to ITV a fortnight earlier post-summer break, found themselves back amid the limelight, with Cat openly discussing presenting the show, reports the Mirror.

When prompted about whether she was taken aback by the intense scrutiny she was put under, Cat confessed: "Yes! Everyone keeps checking in with me, 'Are you OK? Are you handling this all right?'

"I don't care. I do not care. If it gets too much for me I'm going to quit. I don't need to do it. I could stop and be a mum for most of the year, and then go and do the shows in America. There is no ulterior motive for me doing this."

Ben and Cat have stepped into the spotlight following Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's departure from their roles. Ben, previously a familiar face on Good Morning Britain, now presents with Cat from Monday to Thursday each week.

"This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning. It's an honour to be trusted with the reins, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job," he expressed at the time.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
