Antiques Road Trip: Mark makes a loss on royal photograph

Antiques Road Trip’s Margie Cooper has been a familiar face on the BBC since the 1980s but what is there to know about the star?

Prior to joining the world of television, Margie owned her own antiques business for more than three decades before joining Antiques Roadshow in 1985.

Having left a lasting impression with fans for many years, Margie went on to join the expert panel for spin-off Antiques Road Trip in 2010.

And it’s no wonder that she found a love for heirlooms as her grandmother was also an antiques dealer.

However, this wasn’t the only career path that Margie explored in her younger years.

The 75-year-old had previously worked as a journalist, writing her own regular column for BBC’s Home And Antiques Magazine.

In addition to this, Margie was a model and reportedly featured on the front covers of various fashion magazines and was the face of a number of campaigns.

But of course, her real passion ultimately was with antiques and so she continued to pursue a career in the popular industry.

Regarding her home life, little is known but she is married to a man called Mick who she currently resides with in Cheshire.

Together, they share two grown-up sons who now have families of their own.

Her family prefers to keep out of the spotlight but she did share a picture with a loved one last year at a Macclesfield football match, sharing that it was a “family tradition” to go on Boxing Day.

Antiques Road Trip is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
