Love Is Blind UK fans fume as star gets engaged despite urgent warning from castmates

Netflix viewers were beside themselves as they watched things get messy in the first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK. The British version of the highly-anticipated reality show dropped on the platform yesterday, and since then, fans have been taking to social media to share their thoughts.

One participant in particular seems to be at the forefront of everyone’s mind for all the wrong reasons, with viewers lamenting their “red flags” and “ick” behaviour. Therefore, fans have been even more shocked to learn that another contestant decided to get engaged to them despite multiple warnings.

Love Is Blind UK, hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, has made its debut following the success of the original American series in 2020. The match-making show sees several singletons meet through a screen and get engaged to a person of their choosing without ever seeing them.

From there, the pairs are expected to enjoy a brief honeymoon period before getting married soon after. The lineup this year has included the likes of Head of Branding and Marketing Nicole, Mental Health Nurse Jasmine, Product Design Manager Sam, Luxury Shopping Guide Bobby and Structural Landscaper Benaiah.

During the pod phase, Nicole appeared to hit it off with both Sam and Benaiah, while Jasmine focused her attention on Sam and Bobby.

In the end, Jasmine became unsure of Sam and ended up choosing Bobby, which caused an aggravated Sam to quickly divert all of his efforts into securing an engagement with Nicole.

Meanwhile, Benaiah told Nicole he wasn’t sure if he was ready to commit to marriage after such a short time.

However, during one of their pod sessions, he also warned Nicole that he didn’t believe Sam was in the process for genuine reasons following a comment he made about “not being able to pick her up”.

Separately, Jasmine also appeared to attempt to steer Nicole away from Sam, branding him “immature”.

Nevertheless, Nicole ended up choosing Sam and the pair got engaged - but things quickly went wrong when they met each other for the first time.

After their first in-person interaction, Nicole confessed she’d made a mistake, with viewers learning she will soon meet up with Benaiah in the hope of rekindling things with him instead.

The tense love triangle and various warnings to Nicole sent fans into a frenzy, as they took to X (Twitter) to express their frustrations.

“I’m so glad it seems like everyone is on the same page about Sam on Love Is Blind UK,” wrote one fan. “I hope Nicole realizes she chose wrong sooner rather than later.”

“Listen. I’m on episode three of Love is Blind UK - I feel literally SICK to my stomach at Nicole. SICK. Sweet pea, what the f*** are you doing??????” a second concerned viewer commented. (sic)

“Two people pointed out red flags about Sam to Nicole, while he whined that nobody had loved him. I wonder why. This is not going to end well. Great series though,” a third predicted.

“Nicole was warned of all the red flags and still went ahead with Sam chai it’s your own ooo don’t say you weren’t warned,” another frustrated viewer penned. (sic)

“Shout out to Jasmine for noticing Sam’s red flags. Wish Nicole would see them too. Honestly, she gets her 10s,” one more tweeted.

“Nicole does not have discernment at all, I mean Sam?!? Even Jasmine could see through his bs kmt…” another lamented. (sic)

“Even the men know because their energy was off when Sam announced he was engaged. They know he’s not genuine,” one more insisted.

Love Is Blind UK premiered on Wednesday, August 7 on Netflix. Part 2 will be released on August 14, followed by Part 3 on August 21.
