ITV star 'set to return to GMB' 15 years after talk show was axed

Trisha Goddard is set to return to morning TV once again after a staggering 15-year hiatus since her hit show was unceremoniously axed. Once dubbed the queen of daytime television, Trisha is poised for a sensational return, insiders claim.

The 66-year-old television icon is reportedly slated to helm the Good Morning Britain sofa next week as a guest host for two special editions. Rumour has it she's on the verge of confirming her appearance, where she'll open up about her cancer journey.

This marks an extraordinary comeback to a morning TV presenting role for the first time in one-and-a-half decades.

A source told The Sun: "Trisha's personal story is a real tale of determination and the perfect piece of inspiration for people going through a similar ordeal. Despite everything she has been through, she is back doing what she does best - getting into the thick of news and current affairs on a big show," reports the Mirror.

While reps for Good Morning Britain remained tight-lipped when prodded by The Mirror, there is much buzz surrounding her planned return.

This nostalgic return to the limelight comes 15 years post the curtain call of her eponymous programme. During her prolific run, Trisha helmed her talk show on ITV from 1998 to 2004 until its transition to Channel 5, enjoying a six-year tenure on air.

Despite soaring popularity, the show met an untimely end. In a poignant turn during the final series, Trisha was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Triumphant at the time, she announced victory against the disease, only to reveal in 2022 that the cancer had returned, this time spreading to another part of her body and deemed incurable, while still treatable.

In March, the TV presenter commemorated Mother's Day with a heartfelt message to fellow mums grappling with cancer on her social media page. The mum-of-two encouraged those battling the disease to "hang in there".

Her post on the special day read: "Happy Mother's Day UK to all those Mamas going through Cancer treatment and Chemo. I love that my Baybeeze bought me this hat because dem know how me roll! We don't "battle" "fight" "win" or "lose" anything when it comes to Cancer. We're not "brave" or "warriors" - We just try'na do our normal day-to-day stuff. We take our Meds.

"We turn up for Treatment. We get anxious and scared when people see us as our illness and not as ourselves."

This followed her revelation to Hello Magazine! about her stage four secondary breast cancer diagnosis - a condition that can be treated but has no cure. She further disclosed that this time, the disease had metastasised to her bones, specifically her right hip.
