Meghan Markle came under fire following her recent interview with Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with CBS News host, Jane Pauley, to discuss cyber abuse.

Their latest project, The Parent Network, aims to tackle child safety online and connect families who have lost their children to suicide due to a lack of safeguarding online.

In the interview, which aired on the American channel on Sunday (August 4), the 43-year-old touched upon her own experiences with online bullying and suicidal thoughts.

She said: "I haven't really scraped the surface of my experience but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way. And I would never want someone else to be making those sorts of plans and I would never want someone else not to be believed.

"So, if me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourages someone in their life to really genuinely check in one them, and not assume that the appearance is good and so everything is okay, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that."

A preview of the interview was shown on GB News, hosted by Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster before royal commentator Kinsey Schofield gave her verdict.

The 39-year-old began by saying The Parents Network is a positive programme and recognised the important message it's sending out. However, she questioned whether Harry and Meghan are the right people to be delivering this message.

"I would argue that they're not," Kinsey said. "Where is their concern for their family's mental health?"

She continued: "If you want to stamp out cyber bullying, you should probably remove Chrissy Teigan from your friends circle. Chrissy Teigan is famous in the States for telling a 16-year-old girl online to go kill herself."

Kinsey was referring to US media personality Courtney Stodden, who claimed they received death threats from the model in 2011 and 2012. She added: "So if Meghan truly wants to be the internet police and manage online bullying, she should probably start closer to home and remove some of these people from her circle."

Isabel mentioned comments from fans, who questioned why the couple spoke about the importance of family despite having no contact with their own.

Kinsey said: "I imagine that she's smart enough to know that by making some of these comments, it's going to drudge up the Oprah Winfrey interview where she accuses the British royal family of not helping her through her own mental health struggles."
