Jane McDonald gets emotional over her fortune

Jane McDonald was visibly moved to tears in a poignant moment on her travel show, Jane McDonald: Lost in Japan, after an emotional message shed light on her destiny.

While journeying through the Land of the Rising Sun for Channel 5's acclaimed travel programme, the beloved former cruise ship singer got a glimpse of her future through an O-mikuji, which is a traditional Japanese fortune-telling paper strip.

Anxiously, Jane asked the tour guide: "Is there anything bad in there?" bracing herself for what the strip might disclose.

The presenter's guide informed her that while there was a possibility of a negative prediction, any misfortune could be negated easily.

With a mixture of anticipation and emotion, Jane unveiled her fate to the audience: "Wow. I feel as if I was strongly on the spring fields with my family, so comfortable," reports the Mirror.

As she reflected on the words, Jane fought back tears: "Wow, that is quite emotional actually, isn't it?"

Her reading continued with a positive note: "You could realise almost everything as if you could drive easily on a downhill road," further encouraging: "Work hard and believe and you will be successful just like grass grows thanks to the rain heaven gives."

Emotionally overwhelmed by the heartfelt gesture, Jane exclaimed: "This is just so, so beautiful," before questioning, "So this is good luck?"

Her queries were put to rest when the tour guide confirmed: "This is good luck," prompting a relieved Jane to comment: "Thank goodness for that, I was a bit worried about that."

The segment concluded with a tender exchange as Jane hugged the guide and expressed deep thanks for the enriching cultural experience.

Elsewhere in the show, Jane tried her hand at origami - the Japanese art of paper folding - and even gave sumo wrestling a go.

She also had a chance to display her singing talents, albeit at a local karaoke bar.

Jane had a blast as she joined in with other participants for the evening, with many opting to belt out I Will Survive.

Jane McDonald: Lost in Japan is available to watch on Channel 5.
