APITS: Host gutted after couple cut viewing short

A Place in the Sun presenter Lee Juggurnauth faced a challenging task on Wednesday afternoon.

Married couple Mark and Karen, armed with a budget of £150,000, were eager to move to Costa Blanca for their early retirement.

However, they had a specific list of requirements for their new home, leading Lee to begin their search in La Florida.

Upon arrival, they appreciated the exterior of the house, but their enthusiasm quickly waned.

Entering the three-bedroom property, Karen remarked: "It's a bit small."

In an attempt to salvage their interest, Lee queried: "How about the finish itself? It's a very modern exterior."

Although they agreed that the finish was appealing, something was evidently not right for them.

They followed Lee to the rooftop, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Lee then asked: "Space-wise, how does this make up for the rest of the property?"

Karen responded: "It doesn't I'm afraid! It doesn't."

As Mark explained that it felt more like a holiday spot than a home, the Channel 4 star asked if they wished to continue the tour.

She replied: "No, not really."

Her husband concurred: "It's not for us."

Acknowledging their feedback, Lee remained optimistic that the next property would be a better fit.

Despite the rocky start to the search, he confessed in a voiceover: "Oh dear, that wasn't the start I was hoping for."

"I'm gutted this semi-detached villa with three bedrooms that's on the market for just under £136,000 was simply too small for Mark and Karen."

Lee presented five distinct properties to the couple, taking into account their specific needs.

Despite viewing all options, Mark and Karen were left unimpressed by the offerings and chose not to bid on any of the homes.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4 from 3pm
