The Repair Shop: Guests gets emotional after item is fixed
Will Kirk, star of The Repair Shop, has given a rare glimpse into his private life. Despite being a public figure, the 39 year old prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.
Kirk is married to Polly Snowdon and the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed their first child, a daughter, in July 2022. However, they have chosen to keep her name and image away from public view.
The skilled craftsman appeared on Lorraine Kelly's popular ITV breakfast show on Wednesday morning to discuss his latest book, Restore: The Art of Caring for the Things You Love.
The book provides an insight into wood care and restoration, covering everything from basic principles and quick fixes around the home to larger projects that will hopefully inspire fans to embark on their own restoration endeavours.
Lorraine began by praising the book, saying: "This is fantastic. I absolutely loved it. So this is for beginners, if you've got something that you treasure at home and it might not be worth anything but it's worth a lot to us," reports the Mirror.
Will responded: "It's basically an introduction to furniture restoration and I want to sort of stop the idea of us being wizards of repair shops and just show how straightforward it can be. It is sort of an easy step-by-step book."
Lorraine added: "It's a great read but also the tips in here are amazing. You really are giving us all your knowledge."
She then asked: "What do you hope anyone who is interested in this, will take away from the book?"

Will asserted: "Just that you can do it yourself and I think it's just having that confidence and that's what it is all about. There is that element that if something is expensive or holds value then it's best to go to an expert."
Lorraine recalled: "When you were a little boy you watched your grandad fix furniture and thought 'I want to do that' and I think that is lovely."
Thinking about his own lineage, Will mused: "It runs in my blood and perhaps my daughter will do the same thing. She is nearly two."
Laughing at Will's predicament, Lorrine quipped: "Good luck with that, the terrible twos."
But she offered hope as well: "She will, she'll take care of her things because she will see you working and it's lovely."
