Alison Hammond has difficulty recalling name of presenting peer

This Morning's television sensation Alison Hammond stirred on-air turmoil after seemingly forgetting the name of her co-star, live in front of the viewers.

Alison, who has solidified her roots in the world of showbiz as a television personality, struggled to recall the name of one of her broadcasting comrades on the daytime viewers' hot-favourite. This Morning recently implemented an allotment segment, commandeered by the experienced chef, Phil Vickery.

ITV stated that the inception of this innovative feature was attributed to Phil and Terry Walton. They take immense efforts backstage, ensuring regular supply of fresh harvest to the viewers through variety of dishes.

On today's download, Phil teamed up with allotment specialist, David Domoney.

The dynamic duo collaborated harmoniously to whip up an appetising fresh courgette and beetroot tart. The dish intrigued the palate of Alison and her co-host Dermot O'Leary back at the studio, reports the Mirror.

While promoting the forthcoming segment, however, the Birmingham-born celebrity stumbled upon David's name. Referring to the allotment piece, she said: "We'll be joined by Phil and ermm, and that other guy over in the allotment."

Social media platform X, seemed to provide divided opinions about Alison's blunder. While some individuals filled their posts with rolling laughter emoticons, others criticised her as "embarrassing".

One disgruntled viewer wrote: "I"m sorry but Alison is a real turnoff. Can hardly string a coherent sentence together. Dreadful. #thismorning," while another echoed similar sentiments: "'Phil and the other guy'.

"Really Alison, did it not say David's name on the autocue? How embarrassing #thismorning."

However, some viewers found amusement in the situation, with one person quipping: ""Phil and errr the other guy #ThisMorning," accompanied by several laugh-crying face emojis.

Another added: "Alison is just so funny, she has me in stitches #thismorning."

In other news from the show this week, Alison was at the centre of discussions surrounding the ongoing Strictly scandal. The popular dance show has been under scrutiny since Amanda Abbington alleged unfair treatment during training by her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.

She abruptly exited the show amidst growing rumours, although Giovani has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Further controversy arose when it emerged that all was not well between Zara McDermott and her dance partner Graziano Di Prima - who has since been dismissed from the show.

Alison Hammond, another former participant on the show, weighed in on the debate about whether chaperones should be present during training sessions. In a conversation with Dermot O'Leary, she stated: "I don't want a chaperone. You just want to enjoy yourself.

"To be fair, out of the five days training in a week, you probably have cameras in the studio with you three of those days. "She further expressed her comfort and security on the show, praising her partner by saying: "Yeah, I had Aljaz and he was a brilliant teacher."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am and can be streamed via ITVX.
