There's a buzz of anticipation amongst Cobra Kai fans as Netflix has finally confirmed the release date for the much-awaited sixth series.

Josh Heald, showrunner of the hit martial arts drama, who also helmed season six, has spilled some beans on what might be in store in the final series of Cobra Kai. This comes ahead of the arrival of the first five episodes on the streaming platform on Thursday, July 18.

In the last series, we saw teams from Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang unite to counter Silver's aggressive version of Cobra Kai.

The season's finale witnessed Silver's misdeeds being laid bare, causing his former disciples to turn their backs on him. His departure has left the future direction and status of the dojo up in the air as we head into series six.

However, while Silver may have exited, the Cobra Kai dojo could still survive, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Heald told Screen Rant: "Terry Silver's Cobra Kai is gone for good. It was destroyed at the end of last season and we're seeing the remnants of that being thrown away and demolished."

Further, he unravelled that the seasons commence in a period of "peacetime in the valley", with the first episode demonstrating "no Cobra Kai in the Valley".

His cryptic quote: "Whether that means Cobra Kai is done for good remains to be seen because like you said, Cobra Kai never dies. suggests there's more to come.

Apparently, it was a unique and appealing starting point, observing all the characters dealing with the aftermath of victory. He hinted at letting the characters savour this respite as long as possible before the shadow of conflict descends again.

The final season of Cobra Kai, season six, will not only be the longest with a total of 15 episodes compared to the usual 10, but it will also break from tradition by not releasing all episodes at once.

Unlike previous seasons where fans could binge-watch all 10 episodes in one go, the sixth season will be split into three parts. The first part is set to hit screens on 18 July.

However, fans will have to wait four months for the second instalment, which is slated for release on Thursday, November 28, on Netflix, much to their disappointment.

As for the third and final part of season six, Netflix has kept the release date under wraps, only revealing that it will be sometime in 2025. If the gap between the first two parts is anything to go by, we might expect the final part of Cobra Kai season six around March 2025.
