The BBC's latest gripping drama to hit screens, The Jetty, features a star-studded cast. The four-part mystery thriller premiered on Monday, July 15 on the broadcaster's main channel and will continue to air weekly.

Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman takes centre stage in The Jetty as detective Ember Manning, with former Bridgerton actress Ruby Stokes playing her daughter, Hannah. Joining them are Archie Renaux as Hitch, a rookie detective, and Amelia Bullmore as Sylvia, Ember's mother.

The cast is peppered with other well-known faces such as Bo Bragason, Matthew McNulty and Weruche Opia. Perhaps one of the biggest transformations in the show is House of the Dragon's Tom Glynn-Carney, who appears almost unrecognisable in The Jetty.

The 29 year old actor steps into the shoes of Malachy Granger in the new BBC series, sporting a beard and donning baggy attire.

Tom is a far cry from his role in House of the Dragon as Aegon II Targaryen. He assumed the role in the fantasy drama series in 2022, taking over from Ty Tennant, reports the Manchester Evening News.

His acting credits also include Dunkirk and The Book of Clarence, along with TV shows like Casualty and The Last Post.

The Jetty spins the tale of detective Ember Manning, who is on a quest to solve crimes while embarking on a journey of self-discovery. Cat Jones, the show's writer, creator, and executive producer, offered a sneak peek into what audiences can anticipate from the BBC series and its characters.

She explained: "Ember, played by the brilliant Jenna Coleman, is our central character. She goes on a journey trying to find answers for crimes that were committed, but she's also on a very personal journey of self-discovery where she's looking back at her past and re-assessing whether the things that happened to her were okay. Her mum Sylvia played by Amelia Bullmore, and her daughter Hannah, played by Ruby Stokes, are really impacted by her soul searching and the three of them form the spine of the show."

She added: "There are also some fantastic younger characters, Caitlin (Laura Marcus) and Amy (Bo Bragason), who are a couple of teenage girls that develop quite an unhealthy love affair. And then you've got Malachy (Tom Glynn-Carney) who is a grown man having an abusive and illegal relationship with Amy."
