Arsenal have reportedly ‘explored’ the possibility of making a late move for winger Kingsley Coman, who is hoping to leave Bayern Munich this week.

The Gunners are expected to be busy in the final two days of the summer transfer window, with Mikel Arteta keen to continue bolstering his squad before his side face Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal have already made three signings so far this summer, with David Raya’s loan move from Brentford becoming permanent, Riccardo Calafiori joining the club from Bologna and Mikel Merino putting pen to paper at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are now in the market for attacking reinforcements, with the Daily Mail reporting that they are looking into the possibility of signing Bayern star Coman.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain winger is keen to leave the Bundesliga outfit soon, with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal pushing to acquire his services. The Middle Eastern side have made a lucrative offer to the 28-year-old but an agreement has not been reached at this stage.

Arteta is keen to ‘add greater competition’ to his options out wide and thus Coman has emerged as an option in north London. However, the wage demands of the player could be a sticking point in negotiations.

The versatile forward currently earns £300,000 per week at the Allianz Arena, and if Arsenal were to match that salary then he would become one of the highest-paid players at the club. It is also unclear what fee Bayern will demand for their No. 11.

Although they cannot compete with Saudi sides financially, the Gunners will be hoping the prospect of playing in the Premier League and Champions League proves persuasive to Coman if they opt to open talks with Bayern.

Arteta’s side are continuing to work on three other deals as the final two days of the transfer window shape up to be very busy.

Eddie Nketiah is on the cusp of leaving the club to join Crystal Palace in a deal worth approximately £30million including add-ons, which may be considered in the pursuit of Coman given it gives them extra cash to utilise.

A change between the sticks is also on the cards at the Emirates. Second-choice shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale is set to finalise his move to Southampton imminently.

Arsenal are pursuing Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as a replacement. An offer has reportedly been submitted for the Spaniard, though it falls short of his release clause.
