Sunday Brunch: Tim Lovejoy announces new time slot for show

Channel 4's flagship weekend show Sunday Brunch is the latest programme on the channel to receive a schedule shake up.

Presenter Tim Lovejoy announced a huge change to their time slot at the end of the most recent edition of the programme.

Signing off on the last show of 2024 saying "that's all from us." he revealed that from next week, January 5, Sunday Brunch will air from 10am until 1pm every week. This marks a later start and finish time for the programme, which usually airs from 9.30am until 12.30pm.

The news came as the show's latest episode, which featured some of their highlights of the year alongside a panel of guests, was also rescheduled from it's usual slot to have a 10.30am starting time running until 1.15pm.

This is just the latest Channel 4 show to have it's timeslot adjusted for 2025. They recently announced that popular property show A Place In The Sun would be moving from its early evening slot to a prime time 6pm slot when it returns on January 6.

Sunday Brunch is no stranger to shake ups in it's 12 year history. It began life in March 2012 as a two hour show but just over a year later it saw it's running time extended by an hour to three hours.

In 2014 they ran a series of daily shows each morning on Channel 4. Run in conjunction wth Ocado the spin off ran for 40 episodes.

Entitled Daily Brunch the episodes were an hour long giving a condensed version of the Sunday Brunch format.

In 2017 there was more upheaval when Johnny Vegas appeared as stand in presenter while Tim recovered from a back operation.

The pandemic also thrust more change upon the show. It was forced to miss a broadcast on March 22 2020 when repeats of other Channel 4 shows aired in it's stead.

However, unlike many other live shows whcih were benched during lockdown, they managed to return to air the following week.

To ensure they adhered to regulations both Tim and Simon broadcast from their respective homes via video link.

The series managed to return to the studio two months later on May 24 2020.
