TM: Jennie McAlphine calls Alan Halsall an 'adrenaline junkie'
Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine shared a surprise detail about her co-star Alan Halsall on Friday's This Morning.
Alan, 42, best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs, has been making waves on I'm A Celebrity, and Jennie, 40, who plays Fiz Brown and appeared on the jungle series back in 2017, shared details about her co-star.
Appearing from the iconic Rovers Return Inn set, Jennie spoke candidly with host Dermot O'Leary about her thoughts on Alan's chances in the show.
Asked whether she was nervous about him doing the show and if he's a homebody, Jennie said: "A homebody but also not nervous at all, no I wasn't.
"I knew he'd be great, he is what you see, I knew he'd get on with people that's what you've got to do when you're there, get on with people, muck in."
Despite Alan's fondness for familiar comforts, Jennie labeled him an "adrenaline junkie" who enjoys a thrill as she said: "He is a homebody, he loves his home comforts but he is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. In his older age now he does less of it but back in the day he did. I think he would have loved a skydive or something similar. Anything a bit scary, he's alright with!", reports the Mirror.
It comes as Alan's on-screen mother, Claire Sweeney, thinks there's more to expect from the actor. During Friday's episode of Good Morning Britain, Claire, 53, who plays Cassie Plummer, expressed her thoughts about her on-screen son's jungle journey.
She said: "Isn't he wonderful? I know Maureen Lipman came on here and she said he'll start off quietly just watch and observe and then he'll come forward. That's what he'll do, he's brilliant Alan, he's such a funny guy. He's smart, he's sensitive, he's a really brilliant personality."
Intrigued, Kate Garraway asked if ITV viewers have seen the real Alan yet as Paul Brand pointed out that the soap star has been quiet.
Claire responded: "In the first episode he wasn't quiet because he had the big trial with Tulisa and he really shone in that didn't he? He's sitting back at the moment. I think he will, he needs more airtime."
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is on ITV1 and ITVX.
