Coronation Street teaser: Dee-Dee and Lauren chat about Joel
Coronation Street fans were left stunned after discovering the real name of character Dee-Dee Bailey.
The role, portrayed by Channique Sterling-Brown, was introduced to the cobbles in 2022 as the daughter of Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw) Bailey, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
However, Dee-Dee's life has been anything but smooth sailing recently. She discovered the horrifying truth about her fiance Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who had been grooming and abusing young girls for years.
This included Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who disappeared after Joel assaulted her and left her for dead. Joel's crimes were eventually brought to light, leading to his death in September and sparking a major murder mystery on the ITV soap.
Numerous Weatherfield residents became suspects, including Dee-Dee. But in a shocking flashback episode last week, it was revealed that Joel's killer was actually Lauren.
The drama hasn't ceased for Dee-Dee. Despite her strong beliefs about abstaining from sex until marriage, it was revealed that Dee-Dee had slept with Joel a few months prior, reports the Liverpool Echo.
This occurred while Dee-Dee was seeking comfort following a visit to friend Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who later succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
In the latest drama-packed episode of Coronation Street on Monday (November 18), fans were left wide-eyed as Dee-Dee Bailey's real name was surprisingly revealed.

While discussing her unexpected pregnancy with Sarah Platt, stunningly played by Tina O'Brien, Dee-Dee admits her reservations about seeing Joel in the child she is now expecting.
However, it was the casual slip of her actual name 'Diana' in familial banter that really caught viewers off guard. Social media was quickly abuzz with reactions.
One viewer exclaimed on Twitter: "Oh she's called Diana!" while another posted in sheer bewilderment: "Who the f**k is Diana?" Another tweeted in disbelief, "Diana'?!" paired with a GIF expressing utter confusion and the caption, "Sorry, who?"
