Children in Need: Mel halts the show for breaking news
BBC Children in Need's live broadcast was momentarily paused on Friday evening for a "breaking news" announcement by Mel Giedroyc.
Presenters Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Chris Ramsey, and Lenny Rush were at the helm of the charity event's three-hour extravaganza.
But an hour into the show, Mel interrupted proceedings, signalling to viewers: "Hang on, sorry, hang on. Right, I am being told we have to interrupt this programme for some very important breaking news."
The spotlight then shifted to Lenny, positioned at a news desk, who commenced the "Pudsey Headlines". "Hello, and welcome to the news," he began, before introducing himself with "And I am Lenny Rush."
The young actor proceeded to announce the schools participating in this year's fundraising efforts.

Concluding the segment with a chuckle, Lenny said, "I think that is enough news for now," and handed back to his co-host Rochelle Humes, reports the Mirror.
In the lead-up to the show, numerous celebrities have contributed to the fundraising campaign, including Paddy McGuinness.
An emotional McGuinness shared his relief and motivation after completing a gruelling 300-mile bike ride from Wales to Scotland, stating: "Every morning when I woke up everything was aching and it was always dark and cold but I've been saying it for the last few days, when you get on the bike, and you get on the road and everyone comes out it just spurs you on.
"Even though we're filming stuff and putting things on social media; until you're actually in that moment, I will never be able to get it across fully what it felt like."
"All the different sounds, all the cities, all the communities. Everyone came out and everyone were together for something. And all those faces, all the kids, all the nurseries, all the primary schools, all drawing pictures of Patch - none of them had a clue who I were - but it was just so beautiful to see and the streets were lined with people.
"Honestly it's a moment in time I'll take with me to my grave. I'll never ever forget it. It's been amazing."
