Strictly: Fleur halts the show to wish Janette a happy birthday
Fleur East made a surprise interruption during Friday's Strictly's It Takes Two to deliver a special birthday message for Janette Manrara. Fleur was stationed in Blackpool, interacting with the contestants ahead of their performances the following night, while Janette was anchoring from the studio.
As Fleur switched back to Janette in the studio, she paused the show to wish her a Happy Birthday!
"Aw, Pete and Chris, it could be you," Janette responded after Fleur had finished speaking with Pete Wicks, Chris McCausland, and JB Gill.
"Right, when it comes to Blackpool, the group dances are always epic, and this year is no exception," Janette started before Fleur appeared on screen to disrupt the broadcast.
"Wait, hello, Janette, it is me again," Fleur interjected, adding: "Sorry to interrupt you but you didn't think we'd forget something really important, did you?" She went on to say: "Tomorrow is a big day for our couples but it also your birthday, so firstly, a very happy birthday from me to you and a few others wanted to send their well wishes, too," reports the Mirror.

The programme then aired a montage of the Strictly stars extending their birthday greetings to Janette. Her husband, Aljaz, also sent a heartfelt message: "Happy birthday, we hope you have a good day celebrating and we hope your loved ones are spoiling you rotten."
Wynne Evans even serenaded the It Takes Two host at the end of the video. As the camera panned back to the studio, Janette was presented with a birthday cake.
"Wow, thank you," Janette exclaimed, clearly taken aback. "Look at the cake, we have got to look at the cake."
Gratefully, she continued, "Thank you, very much," before swiftly redirecting focus back to the ongoing show.
Elsewhere, Janette announced the next celebrity lined up for the 2024 Christmas special. The host welcomed Vogue Williams on to the sofa, and confirmed she was partnered with Carlos Gu.
Speaking about her stint, Vogue said: "I’m so excited to join the Strictly family! Carlos would have more of a chance of winning a Nobel prize than turning me into a good dancer but I am determined to try my very best! I’m loving it so far, bring on the Ballroom floor."
Strictly's It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
