One of 'best movies ever created' now streaming on Netflix ahead of sequel

Netflix viewers have been encouraged to watch what they're calling one of the 'best movies ever created', which is currently streaming on the platform ahead of an unexpected sequel due for release next year.

The Accountant, originally released in 2016, is now available for viewing on Netflix, with a sequel already slated for 2025.

In the gripping film, Ben Affleck portrays Christian Wolff, an accountant on the autistic spectrum. As a child, his father rejects his mother's plea to send him to a neuroscientific treatment centre.

Instead, using his military background, Wolff's father trains him and his brother in martial arts and weaponry.

As an adult, Christian becomes a forensic accountant who assists illicit organisations in cleaning up their financial records and 'uncooking' their books, reports the Daily Record.

When the FBI begins to suspect him, he takes on a cutting-edge robotics company as a legitimate client. As Wolff uncovers the truth about a discrepancy involving millions of dollars, the death toll begins to climb.

Affleck is supported in the film by Anna Kendrick, J. K. Simmons and Jon Bernthal.

Talks of a sequel first surfaced in 2017, but as time went on, it appears many fans forgot about its existence. The potential for a third instalment was also hinted at, with filming finally getting undeway in March of last year.

The Batman actor's film has fans buzzing with approval as they encourage newcomers to witness what many consider one of his finest roles.

Enthusiasts also expressed their eagerness for the upcoming The Accountant 2, which has already secured an R rating in America for its intense violence and explicit language.
