Mr Loverman official trailer
BBC's Mr Loverman has kicked off and viewers are keen to know more about the actress playing Walker's daughter Maxine.
The eight-part series delves into the love story of two Caribbean Londoners who have been involved in a homosexual relationship since their teenage years in Antigua.
Tamara Lawrance portrays fashion stylist Maxine, the youngest daughter of Barry (portrayed by Lennie James) and Carmel (played by Sharon D Clarke).
As the series progresses, viewers are eager to learn more about the 30-year-old actress' life both on and off screen.
Passion for drama
Born in Wembley, Lawrance's mother, originally from Jamaica, works as a hospital clinical technician, while her father is a delivery driver.
She hasn't publicly disclosed the number of siblings she has, but it is known that she has several younger than herself.
Lawrance reportedly began acting in school plays at the age of six, but was disappointed to find that her secondary school didn't offer drama classes until later.
Speaking to The Guardian, she said: "I wanted to act because it was fun. And in year 7 I was mortified to discover you couldn't do drama until year 9.
"At 11, I persuaded the head of year to set up an extracurricular club and we did the Shakespeare schools festival. I played Puck, then Macbeth."
According to her profile on BAFTA, she was "supported by her mum, aunt and teachers" to follow her dreams and secured a place at Rada (Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art).
Career success
Lawrance has already made a name for herself in several notable projects, including Undercover, The Split, No Offence, The Long Song, The Silent Twins, Kindred, and Small Axe.
Her most recent role before joining the cast of Mr Loverman was as Abi Cochrane in Stephen Graham's BBC One prison drama Time.
A Royal performance
In 2017, Lawrance played the role of Jess in the TV movie King Charles III, which explored a possible future where the former Prince Charles ascends to the throne.
In the film, she portrayed Jess, the republican girlfriend of Prince Harry (played by Richard Goulding), shortly before his real-life romance with Suits actress Meghan Markle became public.
Lawrance shared with the Guardian: "We were shooting before the news of [Harry and Meghan] being in a relationship was even public, so I just thought that was really astute of the writer, or the casting director.
"To see this is a likely partnership, because of Harry's character, perhaps."
Future Projects
Following her work on Mr Loverman, Lawrance has several exciting projects lined up.
She is set to lend her voice to the upcoming animated family film Anokhi: An Adventure Out Of This World, alongside EastEnders star Kara-Leah Fernandes.
Additionally, she will star in the thriller The Man In My Basement alongside Willem DaFoe, Corey Hawkins, and Anna Diop.
Mr Loverman is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
