Amanda Owen and Clive Owen’s returned to TV after three years tonight despite the breakdown of their marriage as the 11-strong family made famous by Our Yorkshire Farm was finally seen again.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess and mum of nine Amanda shot to fame on Channel 5 programme Our Yorkshire Farm as she shone a light on life in the remote Yorkshire Dales with her husband Clive Owen and their brood of children.

But the programme was cancelled following the pair’s separation and tonight marks the first time the whole family has been back on TV together in Our Farm Next Door on Channel 4 channel More 4.

The first episode - with nine more to follow - saw the young kids like Clemmy, Annas, Reuben, Miles and Edith all grown up, while Reuben returned from his new Channel 5 series to lend a hand.

The series will chart the family’s progress in rebuilding Anty John’s, an old farm house that Amanda and Clive are hoping to turn into a permanent home for their family, despite having separated.

Viewers saw Amanda consult with builders, Reuben digging, and a historian unearthed the legacy of the building’s importance in the Ravenseat area.

But some viewers weren’t totally convinced and felt that the new series had a slow start and felt that Amanda as narrator didn't work as well.

@colinb13 said; “Been waiting for #OurFarmNextDoor but this is a pedestrian start. Don’t think Amanda works as a narrator … plus there’s the elephant in the room. Bit flat and mannered so far I fear.”

@dangerRuss_P said: “Omg it’s sooooo slow. She seems brow beaten and Clive seems more jolly. I wonder what’s gone on”

@kathy_liddy added: “Agree.”

But others enjoyed the first episode and are looking forward to more in the pipeline.

@hayleywillz6 said: “So happy to see the Owen family back on TV with #OurFarmNextDoor, got their work cut out trying to rebuild that farmhouse!”

On the episode, Amanda also admitted that she and Clive remain married, but have separated, setting their differences aside to work on the Anty John’s project.

Our Farm Next Door returns next Monday, October 21 at 9pm on More 4 and is available to catch up on Channel 4 (4OD).
