Coronation Street fans believe they have figured out who stole Damon Hay's money in the popular ITV soap. Recently, a new mystery has unfolded on the cobbles after Damon's (Ciaran Griffiths) cash intended for Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) vanished.
Fans will remember that Sarah's daughter, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), nearly lost her life due to a botched plastic surgery procedure in Turkey, which led to her needing a stoma bag. Bethany failed to inform her travel insurance about the surgery, leaving her stuck in Turkey until she could settle her medical bills.
Sarah's ex Damon, who was aware of the situation, left her a voicemail from prison, suggesting she use his hidden money to cover Bethany's medical expenses. However, Sarah couldn't access her voicemail from Turkey and while awaiting news from a loan company, asked her ex-husband, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), to check the messages.
Adam was taken aback by Damon's message but didn't tell Sarah, confiding instead in Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). As he was talking to Daniel, returning character Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) approached and began conversing with Adam.

Later, Adam decided to reveal the truth to Sarah, who then contacted Damon, insisting she had only just discovered the cash. However, her ex was puzzled as he revealed that his associate had checked the lock-up to find the cash missing, sparking a new whodunnit, reports the Liverpool Echo.
On Monday's episode, Sarah became convinced Adam was behind the theft of Damon's cash from the lock-up, despite his denials and assurance that Daniel was also innocent. However, later in the week, Adam drops a clue that Jesse might have been eavesdropping on a private conversation about the location of Damon's stash.
Sarah is quick to suspect Jesse and enlists her brother David Platt (played by Jack P. Shepherd) to join her quest for the truth.
Taking to social media, viewers are convinced they've found the real culprit, and it's not Jesse. One person asked: "Who does everyone think took Damon's money? I don't think it's Adam. It's too obvious..." to which one fan replied: "I think it was David,"
Someone else said: "David to buy the house", a different viewer wrote: "It’s David!" while another added: "David to buy the house back he did have access to the messages!" (sic)
Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on both ITV and ITV X.
