Strictly Come Dancing fans have made an unconventional request - only one week after lamenting what they describe as an "injustice". Insistent that Tom Dean's departure was undeserved, they are proposing the BBC should oust two couples so he can make a sensational comeback.

The atmosphere was electric during Strictly Come Dancing's Movie Week, culminating in Sunday's nail-biting results show.

A previous decision had sparked controversy when Toyah Willcox triumphed over Tom Dean, even though many watchers were convinced that the Olympic swimmer had outperformed her, prompting cries of the competition being "a fix".

In the latest showdown, rock musician Willcox, 66, faced elimination for the second time, performing to stay in the contest with her partner Neil Jones, 42. Gracing the dance floor alongside them for the crucial face-off was former footballer Paul Merson, 56, partnered with Karen Hauer, who is also 42.

After both couples gave it their all in a last-ditch effort to impress the judges, it was decision time, reports Birmingham Live.

Craig Revel Horwood was first to announce his decision, highlighting: "One couple... Their timing was slightly out and also there was a loss of balance and the other couple, I thought, did better the second time around - and the couple I would like to save - Paul and Karen."

Echoing his sentiments, Motsi Mabuse added: "I actually think both couples gave their best, I think both had tiny mistakes and musical mistakes, but one gave a stronger performance and I'm saving Paul and Karen."

Anton Du Beke cast the crucial vote that led to Paul and Karen being saved. He acknowledged: "It wasn't a flawless performance from either couple," but emphasised: "One had a stronger attack in the dance, better quality of technicality, and the couple I'd like to save is Paul and Karen."

Shirley Ballas also disclosed she would have preferred to save Merson and Hauer as Willcox and Jones graciously accepted their exit.

Nevertheless, Toyah Willcox's departure following last week's contentious decision to keep her in the competition has sparked widespread debate among viewers.

Fans took to social media platform X to express their dissatisfaction saying: "After this I'm even more annoyed."

Complaints circulated with viewers stating: "Saved toyah over tom (who actually had potential to improve and go further) last week, only for her to go home this week," while similar thoughts were shared including: Still p***ed that Tom left last week #Strictly," alongside outcries such as "#strictly cant they send both home and bring back tom dean!".

The clamour for change was evident with remarks like: "Save neither and bring back Tom!" sweeping across the internet. Some, however, felt a sense of justice saying: "Thank Christ for that! But Toyah should have gone last week and all the judges know it."
