Good Morning Britain viewers all had the same demand as they raged Ed Balls "should not be discussing Labour", according to furious fans who still feel angry about his connection to Labour MP wife Yvette Cooper.

As he has such close connections with the Home Secretary, he has been accused of lacking impartiality - and disgusted viewers have been turning off his broadcasts in their droves. One blasted on Twitter (X): "@GMB @SwainITV @edballs should not be discussing Labour!! His wife is one of them!! Bias at its best."

Another raged: "@GMB Had to turn off again one look at Ed Balls and realised the show is ruined again. I would love to see the viewing figures - they must be falling daily with this man presenting." This isn't the first time there have been complaints about his "biased" commentary, particularly as his wife has appeared on the show to be interviewed by him in the past.

The interview, which was co-hosted by Kate Garraway, caused a storm over the summer, attracting over 15,000 Ofcom complaints. However, ITV defended its decision to include Ed's wife Yvette in the coverage.

A spokesperson stated at the time: "Following a weekend of rioting and national unrest, GMB featured a range of interviews and discussion around this national emergency on today’s programme which included James Cleverly, shadow home secretary, and Yvette Cooper, home secretary. We are satisfied that these interviews were balanced, fair and duly impartial."

Meanwhile, on this morning's show, Ed attracted further backlash when his banter with Amanda Holden saw him branded "creepy".

Several viewers immediately took to Twitter after Amanda appeared live from Bude, ahead of a 250 mile charity bike ride all the way from Cornwall to London.

The stunt, for Global's Make Some Noise week, will help raise "millions of pounds" for charitable endeavours, and Amanda grimaced: "No matter how sore my bum gets, I'll be thinking about those charities!"

Ed advised using some "bum butter" for the long journey, to which she joked: "Thank you so much, Ed - I'll think of you when I slap it on my bottom!"

He shot back: "Well, I'm thinking of it now!" - a comment which didn't go down well with viewers.

"Ed showing his creepy side. Yvette won't be pleased. #gmb," one fan of the show exclaimed.

Another grimaced: "Is it just me or is Ed getting creepier?", while a third chimed in sarcastically: "Yeah he isn’t creepy at all!", adding a string of unamused face emojis.

Amanda also gave an update on her Heart FM radio co-star Jamie Theakston, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

"The good news with Jamie is it was stage one and he's going to be absolutely fine," she explained, adding: "Fingers crossed that he'll be back by November or December."
