The Hardacres: New series trailer on Channel 5
The Hardacres will be making its debut but who stars in the Channel 5 rags to riches period drama?
Coming from the creators of All Creatures Great And Small, set in the late 1800s, The Hardacres follows the titular poor fishing family who unexpectedly come into great wealth.
However, the transition isn’t as easy as they initially thought it would be so how are they going to adjust to life in the upper class society?

Sam Hardacre - Liam MacMahon
Head of the household is hardworking fish gutter Sam Hardacre who works his way up to become a factory and landowner, thus making his family’s fortune.
Actor Liam MacMahon was behind Daniel in the 2022 series Silverpoint and has also had roles in Evie, Doctors, The Tudors, Coordination Street and The Fall.
Mary Hardacre - Claire Cooper
MacMahon is joined on screen by actress Claire Cooper who is best known for portraying Jacqui McQueen in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks for seven years.
Since then, the 43-year-old has featured in The Witcher: Blood Origins, Six Wives With Lucy Worsley, Knightfall and Snatch.
In the upcoming Channel 5 series, Cooper is behind Sam’s loving wife Mary Hardacre.
Ma - Julie Graham
Strong and gutsy Ma is Mary’s mother who resides with her and the family and subsequently moves with them when they become wealthy.
She is played by actress Julie Graham who was Lou in the prison drama Time season two and has also been in shows like The Bill, Benidorm, Maternal, Ridley and Shetland.
Joe Hardacre - Adam Little
Actor Adam Little is behind one of Sam and Mary’s sons Joe Hardacre.
He previously played Blake Myers in Coronation Street as well as Kyle Dobson in Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge.
Little is joined by newcomers Shannon Lavelle and Zak Ford-Williams who will portray his siblings Liza and Harry Hardacre respectively.
