Amy Dowden has made a triumphant return to Strictly Come Dancing, much to the delight of fans.
The sparkling BBC One show graced our screens again on Saturday (September 14), marking the start of its 20th series. Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were back in action, welcoming another group of 15 celebrities to the dance floor for its pre-recorded launch show.
Celebrities such as JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri and Nick Knowles have all signed up to strut their stuff in hopes of securing a place in the final and winning the coveted Glitterball trophy.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke were also present as usual, ready to share their initial thoughts on the pairings. Among the professional dancers returning to the line-up was Amy Dowden.
Amy joined the Strictly family in 2017 and quickly became a fan favourite. Over the years, she has partnered with celebrities like James Bye, Tom Fletcher and Brian Conley, reports the Mirror.
However, Amy received a breast cancer diagnosis last year, which forced her to sit out the 2023 edition of the BBC show to undergo treatment.
Fortunately, Amy's health has improved significantly, with doctors confirming that there is no evidence of cancer in her body following chemotherapy and surgery.
And on Saturday (September 14), Amy made her much-anticipated return to the Strictly dance floor. Viewers at home were thrilled to see Amy perform a stunning dance routine with her fellow professionals, marking her comeback to the Ballroom.
Fans flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their elation at Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden's return. One fan exclaimed: "Welcome back Amy, the Queen of Strictly." Another chimed in, saying: "Amazing seeing Amy take centre stage again."
A third penned: "Fantastic to see her back on the dance floor." Mirroring these sentiments, another supporter declared: "I am sobbing, it's amazing to see amy on the dance floor again."
Amy announced the news of her comeback earlier in June, sharing a gleaming update across her social media channels, stating she was overjoyed to resume normality and embrace her passions.
"I'm so happy and grateful to be back on Strictly - MY HEART IS SO HAPPY! " stated Amy, followed by: "The best team on and off the dance floor and I can't wait to be back doing what I love most in the world, dancing! Feel blessed and more excited than EVER. Bring it on!"
