Alison Hammond recently lost a jaw-dropping 11 stone, but her role co-hosting The Great British Bake Off could prove to be a risky one, as she tries to keep the weight off.

The star’s co-presenter Noel Fielding has addressed the dangers the Channel 4 show can pose to maintaining healthy diets, for both the hosts and judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.

According to The Guardian’s What’s On Magazine, stars refer to “the Bake Off stone” – a tendency to gain weight during each 10 -week run - a concern This Morning presenter Alison aimed not to ignore this year.

Noel divulged that Alison had turned to him for assistance, urging him to prevent her from eating too much cake in the Bake Off tent.

The comedian told the publication: “She tried to eat less this year but Alison’s quite childlike. She said: ‘Noel, stop me eating cake, I want to be good.’

“The next time I saw her, she was literally like [he mimes shovelling in cake].

“Alison has a good time all the time. You don’t want her to not be eating the cakes.”

Alison has been very candid about her struggles with her weight over the years, recently sharing with This Morning viewers that she sometimes had to pay for two plane seats ahead of flying, as she almost reached 28 stone.

The presenter explained on the ITV show: “I was nearly 28 stone. I’ll be honest with you. That is morbidly obese, and I used to buy an extra seat because I didn’t want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them.”

She continued: “I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone’s seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class.

“It was embarrassing – the whole thing – and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don’t do it anymore because I’ve lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that.”

The issue gave the star the motivation to change her lifestyle, and her weight has since dropped to below 17 stone.

Earlier this month, Alison took to Instagram to give fans an insight into her workout regime with her personal trainer, Lui Mancini.
