Strictly Come Dancing stars missed a subtle tribute to Sir Bruce Forsyth hidden in the opening credits of the hit BBC dance show tonight.

The hit BBC show, recently bogged down in controversy surrounding some of the training with pros behind the scenes, has despite the rows come back for its 20th anniversary celebrations tonight.

The show opened with a very long pros number to celebrate the dance competition’s 20th anniversary and this year the BBC will be championing all things Strictly for the significant milestone.

But fans hoping for a nod to the late Strictly stalwart Sir Bruce Forsyth were disappointed that the show didn’t do anything to recognise the former host.

@newthin21086 said; “Is it me or is it a bit disappointing that there is no tribute to Sir Bruce Forsyth?

“It’s like he has been totally written out of #Strictly history.”

But a lot of viewers did spot that there was a hidden message in the show’s lengthy opening pros dance.

Professionals including Amy Dowden, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer and Johannes Radebe took part in the long intro montage.

And at one point, they departed the Strictly bus onto the stage before Karen Haeur blew a kiss to the bus’ number plate.

There the reg read ‘Brucie’ in a subtle tip to the former host.

One viewer said: “#Strictly #Scd What a lovely nod to Sir Bruce Forsyth #Bus #Strictlycomedancing

@jackbailey2 added: “The bus being called Brucie”

@wright_jacqui said; “The Brucie bus #StrictlyComeDancing”

The show then segued into a pro dance for Amy Dowden, to welcome back the Welsh singer after she missed the 2023 series due to her battle with cancer.
