LW: Kaye Adams finding it tough since kids have moved out

Loose Women's Kaye Adams shared a heartfelt family update during Thursday's show.

The panellists were delving into the topic of coping with 'empty nest syndrome', which led Kaye, 61, to open up about her youngest leaving for university and its emotional impact.

The presenter revealed: "Bonnie has gone off to Edinburgh University - she won't thank me for saying that, Charly is now working so she's away as well. Second one out the house is tough, I have to say I am finding it difficult.

"The place is too tidy, we've got too much milk in the fridge - I don't know how we're going to stop the milk order."

She emotionally added: "I'm finding it terrible, I'm finding it hard." When prompted about her partner Ian's handling of the situation, Kaye revealed: "He suggested that we go to cooking classes together! I actually looked at him and thought: 'Who are you?!' Bless him, he's trying really hard!"

The conversation then turned to a recent family event, where she recalled: "We had our 'last dinner' on Saturday night, Charly my eldest daughter came as well", reports the Mirror.

Kaye continued of the family event: "Bonnie was under the table on her phone the whole time arranging to go out to a club after the last dinner was out the way, thank you very much.

"For a second, I was annoyed, I thought you could at least try. I was trying to have an emotional last night with her and the family but then I thought: 'Look, I'm going to get you an Uber, you just go now.'

"Because it's a new life, they've got to go and have this new life. She said: 'Are you sure mum?' and I said: 'Off you go' and off she went, it was horrible!"

It comes as Kaye admitted last month to lying about her real age. During the episode, the panellists discussed the topic 'do your priorities change with age' which prompted Denise Welch to point out that co-star Kaye had previously lied about her age and pretended she was 'ten years younger'.

Denise, 66, said: "Kaye does a podcast How To Be 60 because you didn't know how to be 60. You denied your age for a long long time didn't you? You lied about it!" To which Kaye admitted: "Absolutely, I lied to my kids, I did a big confession" with Denise pointing out: "She told them she was ten years younger!" with Kaye adding: "Eight, eight, thank you!"

Explaining her reason, she continued: "Forty now, it's you're fabulous at 40, at 50, but once you get to 60 I mean all the greetings cards are about flatulence and losing your teeth but you don't feel that way."

Loose Women continues every weekday at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
