GMB: Kate Garraway cuts off a guest to issue warning about sleeping

Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway didn't hesitate to interject during a lively debate on the latest show, swiftly cutting to the chase with an important update for the viewers.

The seasoned presenter, 57, took the helm for Friday's show alongside co-host Adil Ray. As they delved into the day's top stories and political debates with former MP Ed Vaizey among others, things rapidly picked up pace.

The debate quickly moved onto the far right movements in the country, with riots sweeping cities following the Southport stabbing last month.

However, amid the animated discussion, Kate promptly intervened to halt her guests in their tracks, declaring: "We're out of time which means we haven't got time to tell you lying in on the weekend is healthy for you! ", reports the Mirror.

Kate continued her statement as she said: "You're officially less likely to develop heart disease. Lie in tomorrow, everybody!

"Good Morning Britain isn't on air and you can sleep in because apparently it's very good for you! There you go."

Meanwhile, the show's report on Prince Harry and Prince William reuniting at their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes's funeral sparked backlash from viewers.

Kate and Adil spoke to senior news correspondent Richard Gaisford, who was reporting live outside Windsor Castle, as he gave them a breakdown of what happened between the estranged brothers.

It appears whilst they both attended the event, Harry and William didn't engage with each other, with both making quiet appearances.

Richard said: "It seems they both made very discreet entrances, not together, sitting at the back of the church.

"[They were] not seen talking to each other but were certainly both there for the service. Normally you would expect Royal photographers to be out en masse for an event like this, [but] no pictures of the two of them emerging after the service either."

Viewers were left unimpressed by the segment as they took to social media to rage that it "wasn't news". One fan said: "Are you jokiing me, you seem surprised that two men should go to a relatives funeral...that is not news...do you think one wouldn't go jst to keep the media happy."

Another agreed: "Surely this cannot be the top story on GMB this morning nobody really cares whether Harry or William talk again For the sake of his wife and family Harry cannot be trusted and has been cruel and vindictive.come on GMB there is more serious news that should be more important."

A third chimed in: "Why is this news, and what’s this nonsense about a royal photographer being at a 'private family funeral'. You all need to mind your own business IMO."

GMB airs weekdays at ITV1 at 6am.
