Maisie Smith asks to 'skip question'

As Ranvir Singh stepped in to host Lorraine on ITV, she was joined by former Strictly Come Dancing stars Maisie Smith and Max George.

The couple, are playing a husband and wife in the stage production of War of the Worlds, but Maisie wasn't too impressed with one of Ranvir's probing questions.

Max remarked: "We're playing the parts of Nathaniel and his wife Beth. I basically lose my head because I think we're being invaded by aliens."

"He thinks it's the devil," Maisie chipped in. "And, me being the rational wife am trying to convince him it's the Martians."

Ranvir interrupted: "Is she the rational one in real-life Max? Be honest."

As Max took a moment to think before he answered, Maisie cut in: "Can we skip that question? Moving on." Max then laughed: "Nah, she's mental."

Earlier this year, things became awkward when Maisie and Max were quizzed about marriage on Good Morning Britain.

ITV host Ed Balls asked the pair at the time if they had been "practising" for their theatre roles. He asked: "Did you practise in advance? To be married?"

"To be married?!" asked Maisie as Max stepped in to comment: "I mean we live with each other and argue."

Maisie added: "We spend enough time to probably know what it's like," before the couple tried to move the conversation along.

When the pair announced their roles in War of the Worlds, Maisie penned on Instagram: "CANNOT wait for this. Heading to arenas all over the UK we will be playing the iconic parts of Parson Nathanial & Beth in the infamous production of Jeff Waynes ‘The War Of The Worlds."

She's also been giving fans a look into rehearsals by sharing a clip of them running lines, singing and even doing a sound check. Maisie blew fans away with her vocals, with one fan commenting: "Fabulous! Never knew Maisie could sing like this!"
