Roo Irvine announces she'll be joining Lomond Radio
Bargain Hunt’s Roo Irvine has opened up on what she enjoys when she isn’t scouting for antiques.
The Scottish expert is back to front the BBC daytime series with a “tiny treasures special”, visiting some “pint-sized attractions in Glasgow” and sharing what items are purchased by the red and blue teams.
Roo was discovered as a TV personality after Antiques Road Trip visited her shop Kilcreggan Antiques in Scotland back in early 2015.
It wasn’t too long before BBC producers invited her to become one of the experts and nine years later, she has become a staple on some of the most popular daytime shows.
But despite the world of antiques playing a major role in her life, Roo does have a number of other interests which don’t involve collectors’ items.
According to Roo’s website, her other passions in life are “food, music and fashion”.
Her bio continues: “Viewers know Roo dresses to impress in her eclectic and as she says ‘sometimes unique fashion’.
“But when she is not enjoying dressing up, Roo will be found in the kitchen, cooking up amazing curries for her friends.”
She is also a supporter of a number of charities, as well as an ambassador for the Blue Cross animal charity.
Roo currently lives in a small village in Argyll and Bute in Scotland with her husband of 12 years Mark Irvine.
He is an Independent Councillor and earlier this year, was appointed the new chairman of the council’s Helensburgh and Lomond area committee.
Roo has preferred to keep quiet about their relationship but it is known that they share three Maine Coon cats.
