Ruth Langsford expressed her thanks in a heartfelt message to her lifelong friends following her split from Eamonn Holmes. The Loose Women presenter and her co-hosts were discussing how you know you have a "friend for life" on Monday's episode (August 19) when the 64-year-old shared an emotional message.
As an image popped up on screen, showing her with some of her school friends, Ruth explained: "They have been through thick and thin as all of us have had things happen in our lives." Turning her attention to Coleen Nolan she added: "But then you meet other people."
She continued: "There's that saying, 'friends come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime'. And it's interesting because some people you've been really good friends..."
Coleen interrupted as she asked: "So what was the reason you came into my life?" The audience roared with laughter as Ruth joked: "Because they threw us together. They sat us next to each other."
A little while later, Coleen shared her own heartfelt message as she said to Ruth: "I hope we will be friends for life."

Kéllé Bryan added her own two pence to the conversation as she said: "I think it's quite unique when you date someone or have a relationship with someone and you go on to have a friendship after that.
"That's quite a unique thing, especially if you shared quite a lot during the relationship. Sometimes break ups can be quite nasty and you go your own way.
"But if you find a way back and find something in common that keeps you remaining friends after that relationship has broken up, there's something about the longevity from that."

Some fans instantly criticised Kelle for discussing a break up in front of Ruth, with one taking to X/Twitter to ask: "Is Bryant trolling Ruth regarding her recent breakup??" Another added: "Oops Kelle, talking about being friends after break ups."
Former power couple Eamonn and Ruth, both 64, announced they were splitting in May after 14 years of marriage.
While Ruth is said to be trying her best to navigate single life, Eamonn is reportedly now romantically linked with Katie Alexander - a 42-year-old relationship counsellor and fellow divorcee.
