Daniel Lustig-Webb shares video update after split from husband Stephen
Celebs Go Dating star Stephen Webb reached out to his ex-partner Daniel before committing to the reality show, and he has now revealed the six-word response he received.
Stephen and his husband Daniel rose to fame on Gogglebox and garnered a loyal fan base thanks to their quick quips and close relationship. Viewers were left crestfallen when the pair declared their departure from the Channel 4 show last year, and shortly after, they announced that they were separating.
Mere months after their separation revelation, Stephen has been unveiled as one of the star's in dating series, Celebs Go Dating. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Stephen confided his considerate approach to joining the reality show's ranks.
"I did ask Daniel for his permission to do the show, because we still live together and if he had said, 'I'd prefer you not to do it'. I wouldn't have done it, but he didn't," he shared with the newspaper.
Embracing the turn of events, Stephen disclosed Daniel's response and support towards seizing the new chapter.

"He said, 'I think you should do it.'" Adding: "'I think it'd be really good for you'. And so, I had his blessing."
Yearning to delve back into the dating scene, Stephen expressed how the prospect of getting tips from seasoned love maestros Anna Williamson, Paul Carrick Brunson, and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn piqued his interest in the programme.
"I did it because I'd come out of a long term relationship, and I wanted to get some advice on dating again, because I haven't dated for so long," he explained.
"And I thought, 'Why not? ' I got offered it, and I thought, 'I think it'd be a good opportunity.'" The Gogglebox celebrity hinted at success in his latest foray into dating, with a teasing reflection on his experience.
"[Taking part in the show] has worked out, it's paid off, literally," he hinted. In Celebs Go Dating, stars are prompted to bare their souls, leading to raw, unguarded conversations with relationship experts.
Stephen confessed to breaking down "every time I did a deep dive", elaborating: "Bearing in mind this is the first time I talked about any of the things I spoke about on the show, so it was raw and emotional. And now I've got to a point where I can talk about those things without getting upset. You can't help but cry when you're talking about something so emotional for you."
The ex-Gogglebox favourite is in good company seeking romance on the show alongside Coronation Street legend Helen Flanagan, Married At First Sight alum Ella Morgan, Made In Chelsea's Tristan Phipps, and Love Island's Chris Taylor. They'll also be joined by singing sensation Jamelia and influencer Lauryn Goodman in the upcoming episodes.
The new series of Celebs Go Dating airs tonight at 9pm on E4 and Channel4.com.
