A Place in the Sun's Ben Hillman's life off screen with NHS worker wife and children

Ben Hillman, the face many associate with Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, has become a household name for his expertise in helping hopefuls find their perfect holiday homes. Joining the show back in 2014, Ben's background is littered with property renovations and builds across the UK.

When he's not on camera, you'll find him with a pencil in hand, creating new design masterpieces or diving hands-first into carpentry and gardening projects. His television journey has been diverse, building an early presence with appearances on The Renovation Game, 60 Minute Makeover, and even ITV's This Morning.

The property whizz cherishes his personal life in Shoreham-By-Sea, where he relishes family time with his wife, an NHS hero, and their two adorable daughters. Since marrying Gaby in 2011, the couple's family bloomed with the arrival of Hope Blossom, closely followed by Honour Willow.

His Instagram is a treasure trove of family moments, but it was one cheeky post that really got fans talking. Celebrating World Naked Gardening Day on May 4, Ben bared all, modestly hiding behind foliage, while Gaby joked around with gardening shears - the playful post captioned with an equally cheeky quip: "Steady on the pruning Gaby!".

In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, Ben opened up about the immense support Gaby provided him, particularly through the trying times of the pandemic, candidly sharing, "I would literally get depressed but Gaby would be like, 'You need to find something to do with your time'".

"And then as soon as I was onto something else... it was just the distraction which kept me going, so yeah it became really important for me I think."

In 2016, Ben and Gaby secured a 1934 four-bedroom house in Shoreham-By-Sea, West Sussex, executing a stunning transformation to create their ideal home.

Utilising Ben's knowledge in design, they gave the property a total facelift, complete with a wraparound extension and a chic new kitchen.

Expanding on his domestic bliss, he further shared: "I'm a real home bod, I love being around my family and being around my kids, they're the number one thing in my life."
