Don Warrington doesn't know why Death in Paradise is a success
It's been an exciting time for fans of Death in Paradise and its spin-off series as BBC bosses confirmed last week that filming had begun on Beyond Paradise series three. The new season is set to deliver more intriguing puzzles for the Shipton Abbott team to solve and will see the return of Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman, and Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd.
The news comes as fans eagerly await the return of Death in Paradise following Ralf Little's exit as DI Neville Parker. The much-loved show will return this Christmas with Don Gilet making his first appearance as the new lead detective DI Mervin Wilson, ahead of his full series debut next year.
However, in the meantime, BBC bosses are keeping fans entertained with reruns of Death in Paradise. The broadcaster has been airing repeats from season nine, which was Ralf's debut season, and saw his character was temporarily brought over from Manchester to solve a case involving a woman found dead in her hotel bathtub.
As fans will recall, what was supposed to be a brief stint on Saint Marie turned into a four-year posting for him. In his second case on the island, Neville investigated a murder that occurred when a desert island survival course went wrong. Guest stars in the episode included Emmerdale's Chloe Harris and Silent Witness star Robert Lonsdale.
Sam Troughton as Malcolm Simmons
Survival course member Malcolm Simmons is played by Sam Troughton in episode six. The actor has had many television roles including in The Lazarus Project, Litvinenko, and The Outlaws.
He also starred in Mank, and viewers might also recognise him from his role as DS John Burrows in The Trial of Christine Keeler as well as starring in 2019’s Chernobyl as Alexandr Akimov.
Daniel Caltagirone as Will Arnott
Daniel Caltagirone plays Will Arnott who is the leader of the survival camp and ex-SAS soldier. He played Henry in the television series That Dirty Black Bag, and starred as Brutus in Britannia as Brutus and Pazzi in Medici.
Chloe Harris as Casey Booth
Chloe plays influencer Casey Booth. Viewers will recognise Chloe for her roles in many dramas including The Long Shadow, Nolly, Sherwood, The Ipcress File, The Spanish Princess, and The Trial of Christine Keeler. Chloe has also starred in Emmerdale as Mel.

Robert Lonsdale as Dave Hammond
Robert Lonsdale plays another of the suspects named Dave Hammond in the episode. Aside from Death in Paradise, he has appearead in Finding Alice, Holby City, Killing Eve and Chivalry.
Viewers might also recognise him for his roles in Silent Witness, and Chewing Gum, which saw him star as Connor between 2015 and 2017.
Alexandra Roach as Bethan Miller
Alexandra Roach takes on the role of Robert’s partner named Bethan Miller. Welsh actor Alexandra will be recognised for her roles in Inside No.9, Bodies, Viewpoint and Killing Eve.
She has also starred in Welsh shows Men Up, and The Light in the Hall, as well as roles in Sticks and Stones and Sanditon, where she played Diana Parker.
Death in Paradise season 9, episode 6 airs tonight on BBC One at 9pm.
