Alex Yee reflects on second gold medal for England at Birmingham 2022
It has become apparent that BBC viewers were left distracted by Team GB's Alex Yee and Bryony Page's outfits rather than their huge achievements.
The two gold-winning Olympians are set to carry the famous Olympic touch into the closing ceremony tonight and they gushed over the huge honour to BBC's Betty Glover.
Despite their triumphant wins, fans couldn't help but comment on a totally unrelated detail they noticed during the interview.
Taking to X fan @mdurrant93 asked: "What on earth are those shirts they've given to Team GB?" referring to the pairs matching navy button-down shirts, which featured a colourful floral pattern.
A second viewer @harry_jrh echoed: "Can we all agree that the team GB outfits this olympia’s are BAD."
With @jozzzaphen chiming in: "Lord, what is this mess #closingceremony uk outfit, they look ridiculous the flag bearers #bbctv," along with a meme of Alison Hammond laughing.
A fourth fan @chloeeveburton fumed: “Always trust team GB to have the worst outfits.”
However, not everyone was turning their noses up at the funky ensembles as @InekeClewer gushed: “The shirts for #TeamGB for the #ClosingCeremony are wonderful! #Olympics.”
While viewer @jonnyharvey11 agreed as they explained the symbolic meaning behind the shirts writing: “Love the Team GB shirts for the closing ceremony with the national flower of each of our nations on there. Looks the part.”

Shocking outfits aside, Bryony completed her set of Olympic Games by taking home gold in the gymnastics trampoline at Paris 2024.
Alex had an equally as impressive time at the games, winning gold in the men’s individual triathlon which was followed up with mixed relay bronze.
Aside from their impressive Olympic run, Bryony and Alex discussed the pleasure of having been named as Team GB’s flagbearers for the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony takes place at the Stade de France in Paris from 8:00pm BST, as it concluded a remarkable 16 days of competition which have seen Team GB amass 65 medals.
