Euphoria: Official teaser trailer for Season 2
The eagerly awaited third series of the teen sensation Euphoria, which aired its second season back in February 2022, is finally breaking through the silence as star Hunter Schafer offers up some candid insights.
After numerous production hiccups, HBO has penciled January 2025 into the diary for the third chapter's debut.
Actress Hunter, renowned for her portrayal of transgender teen Jules Vaughn in the drama, opened up about the setbacks while chatting on Alex Hall's Call Her Daddy podcast, admitting: "The real tea is I have no f*****g idea what's going on, and you can ask literally all of the cast."
Tragedy has struck the beloved show following the loss of actor Angus Cloud, known for his role as Fezco "Fez" O'Neill, along with producer Kevin Turen, reports OK!.
Continuing the conversation, Hunter revealed: "I think everyone feels a certain sense of anticipation for if we are supposed to do season three."
She added poignantly: "Obviously I'm still coming to qualms about what's happened and losing people that we really loved and were a part of this family and everything. If we do go back, that's going to be tough."
Despite the backdrop of uncertainty and sorrow, the actress holds onto hope for what could await in the upcoming season.
She conveyed: "I think there's a world in which we can channel that into making it a beautiful season three if it is supposed to happen, but I think that s**t really threw everyone for a loop," sharing her conviction amid the challenges faced by the cast and crew.
"And then there's all these industry whatever political things that go into whether or not this is happening, but that's emotionally ... a big part of what's happening, too."
Echoing the woes of the film and television industry, the production suffered delays not just due to the usual political tussles within the industry but also because of the COVID-19 pandemic for it's second season. Although initially slated to begin filming the second season in the second quarter of 2020, it did not commence until March 2021.
Zendaya leads the cast as Rue Bennett, playing the troubled teen struggling with addiction in the backdrop of her post-rehab life in the critically-acclaimed HBO series.
The cast boasts the likes of the Challengers star alongside Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Sydney Sweeney and several other acclaimed actors.
Production begins on season three of Euphoria in January 2025. An air date is yet to be revealed.
